2004 SL55 Comand problems
Will the GPS do anything if the CD in the comand head unit is non-functional? My car only has 4000 miles but the CD in the Comand head unit does not want to work. It either says no CD or CD reading error when inserting either an audio CD or Blaupunkt Nav CD. When I go into the Engineering menu, the Infos screen never shows any Sats or vehicle speed. Is there a test disk for the Comand unit? My dealers parts department says no. I'm debating if I should tear the head unit apart and see if anything obviously is wrong. Tried a CD cleaning disk but no go.

My 05 SL55 DVD nav disk reader is in the trunk. The CD changer is behind the drivers seal and the command unit will run cd or dvd/mp3, but not a nav disk.
The 02 CLK55 only takes the CD music or CD nav disk in the command head. Sometimes I forget what car i'm in ;-)
