What fuse to change/ where is fuse box located

Can someone help me out here real quick, I dropped a metal piece in the cigarette outlet the other day and I'm guessing it has a bad fuse now since it doesn't work.

Can someone direct what fuse to use and where is the fuse box?

Thanks

There are a couple of different fuse boxes in the car. If you look in one of the compartments in the front of the seats, you should find a complete legend for all the fuses.

Go into your trunk and open up your tool kit, the spare fuses along with the schematic is located inside of it. You have three different relay boxes in your SL, one on the drivers side of the engine compartment against the fire wall, one on the passenger side of the engine compartment up against the fire wall and tucked close to your fender and one behind the passenger seat were your storage compartment is located. You have to open up the storage compartment and carefully pull off the face that's pointed toward the rear of the passenger seat. Study the schematic for a few minutes before changing any fuses, whereas there are asterisk's and "0's" that distinguish between the SL500 and the SL55. The middle portion of the schematic is in English so don't bother with the left and far right portions. Furthermore, the legend of your large boxed fuses will be listed at the bottom of the sketch and your smaller fuses will be on the back of the sheet. It's so easy to understand even a Cave Man can do it
