Interior comparison: SL65 vs SL63
I currently own a CL600 and am looking to buy a used SL65 or SL63 this summer. One of the features I love about the CL600 is that there is almost no vinyl in the interior. Everything is covered in leather. Dash, door panels, center console, etc... Plus, the seats have a softer NAPA (aka 'exclusive') leather.
What about the SL63? Are the dash and door panels vinyl? Are the seat covers in the SL65 different from the SL63?

it depends on what years ou are talking about, A 05 SL65 is going to be different that a 09SL65 and a 05 SL65 is going to be different than a SL63
in the same year all the amgs are the same.
But nappa is usually an option (although they do have some sweet seat covers at NAPA)

EVERY PART OF THE SL65 IS LEATHER! I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE SL63...
The SL65 is sold standard with every interior part covered in leather. Must be MB trying to justify the extra $65,000 over the price of an SL55...
My SL55 had leather seats but the rest was MB Tex (AKA Vinyl)...
No idea about the SL63 although they replaced the SL55 (similar price also)so they might be the same...

Here are excerpts from the 2009 SL brochure (which does not cover the SL65)
SL600: Hand-fitted Exclusive Leather on seats, head restraints, dashboard, console, doors, armrests, roll bar and rear-cabin operating panels. Color-keyed topstitching on doors, dashboard and console. Alcantara-covered ceiling and sun visors.
SL63: Hand-fitted perforated AMG Premium Leather seating surfaces with metal AMG badges. Contrasting topstitching on doors, dashboard and console. Alcantara-covered ceiling and sun visors.
So my questions is, do the SL63 and SL65 have leather covered dash and door panels? Or are they vinyl?

For me the all leather interior is a important feature. When friends sit in my CL600 they are amazed to see that the attention to detail MB took with the leather.
