SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Nitto drag radials
installed on an 03 SL55 stock turbine wheels. Looks bad a$$ and they hook. So if anyone was wondering if they fit Not sure on how to upload the pics on the thread
, but i can direct you to my pics on the site.
Both shots are of the car on the lift, by the time i got done flogging the beast after tire install it was too dark to take better shots.https://mbworld.org/forums/members/k...ms-dyno-s.html

I'm thinking about getting an 18" or 19" lightweight wheel/tire set-up for the track. Just not sure what to go with since there are so many choises.

1.70 60' for me on 20" ContiExtremeContact3's.

Maybe not, since it sounds like you're suffering from heat soak, a bit.

So how do you like the 305s for normal driving? I'm thinking split the difference and go to 295s.
It was 81 degree's with a da of 1200 at 6:30 when I ran my car. I left early.
Here is a calculator for the DA just in case you want to bookmark it.

This time of year in Florida is not good for drag racing. It will only get worse. Kustom will be solidly in the 11's come Dec-March.
It's important to drive the car in between runs to cool down the IAT charge. I couldn't live without my scanguage which shows my IAT temps. I can't believe more people don't us it on their 55's.

Cal1, I keep the tire Pressure around 40lb. Your going to lose some cornering ability due to the softer sidewall but I don't mind the trade off considering what the car gained in straight line performance
;-) ..I like the look of the 305's and think 295's would work just as well.
I know a HE will not add anymore horsepower as an add on per se (like cams or headers) but it will make available the power that's already there that are being hindered by heat soak.
