high miles sl55, should I buy?
I had a SL55 that I sold a year ago and now I am looking to get another one.
My 2003 I sold at 65000 miles and I had no real repair issues.
I am looking at one now that has 85,000 miles. It looks clean but it does not seem as "tight" as mine. Not even sure how to explain it better than that.
I know some cars need certain maintenance at so many miles such as a honda needs a new timing belt at 90k.
What issues crop up on an SL55 with mileage or age?
Any warranties out there that are any good for a car this old or with that many miles?

personally I wouldn't buy it.. a sensitive car like a 55 I'm sure will have have some sort of problems at 85000. And im sure you will have a tough time getting a good company to warranty it with so many miles. The amount you spend on repairs you might as well shoot for a 05 or up and save yourself the trouble. Just my thought.

warranty is the way...
I bought a chrysler warranty from Michael at harold ziegler group and it has paid for itself already in repair costs. (Top motor,front ABC strut) 85,000 may not be covered and I agree with prior comments go up a year or so save the headaches . Even with warranty you want it on the road more than in the shop.

I agree with jmf003 ...the car's gotta feel right. Miles are not really an issue the drivetrain in the SL is solid. Ussually cars without problematic history point to a car that will remain relatively issue free, regardless of miles...my SL55 has 60K on it and runs very solid and is very well maintained, feels great to drive so even with the miles it's fine.
