I was told by the dealer shortly after I purchased my first SL55 that I could not replace the metal roof panel with a pano roof panel. They mentioned it was a different weight, needed bigger top motor, and a few other things.
but... a local MB body shop said he could do it and it was not a big deal.

Anyone do this? What is involved? any troubles? price?

You can probably do it but it'd very expensive. Try contact Steve @ MBenzNL he'll know for sure if you can do it and how much it'd cost.
