Gear Shift Handle Will Hesitates when attempting to shift out of Park

Hello-
I was wondering if anyone here has experienced the same problem.

When I turn my car on and apply pressure to the brake, the gear shifter acts stubborn and doesn't want to move in any direction ie D, R, etc. This just started about two days ago, were I have to play with the the brake pedal and after about 4 or 5 attempts she will than shift into gear. Has anyone here ever had this problem before? This is really an odd problem that I have never heard of before, thanks in advance.,
V/R
Chuck.

Try putting more pressure on the brake. I had the same problem and it worked for me. If this doesnt work then MB will have to adjust or replace the sensor.

My car started doing this I ignored it and ended up having to have the car towed as it was completely stuck in park.

Ended up having to replace the entire gear selector mechanism

Yeah that sucks, that seems to be the trend with others as well. Anyway, I believe that I caught mine in time to just get the sensor replaced. I took the sensor out this morning and cleaned her up a little and she appears to be OK for the time being. However, I will get the sensor from the Merc dealership and just be done with it, I would hate to have to stroke a check for $800.
Thanks for the feedback.

I have all the levers in stock and ship daily.
Repair your ESM lever properly - do not just remove your broken part because your car can be then released from park by children in the car - it's no good if your car rolls down the hill with the kids in it.......

Exclusive offer for mbworld readers - Mention mbworld with your order and I will include 3 day express shipping with TNT for FREE

Easy to fit by DIY'er or MBZ workshops.
