Painted Barrels?

Any thoughts on whether or not to paint the inner barrels on wheels black? Does it ruin the look of the wheel or just hide the brake dust and crud?

It really depends on the design and color accents in the wheel. Have a picture of the wheels you're talking about?

On my five spoke...I did it because the face is a satin finish. I think it looks better and does hide the dirt a lot better.

I say do it if you're gonna do any kind of black accents on the wheels. With the matte black accents and matte black connecting hardware on mine, I should've done it.

if you do that might as well do the windows outlining the spoke faces as well. that would give the apprearance of a larger wheel to the naked eye if the outers remained polished or a bright color, like silver or brushed aluminum w/ clearcoat.

Look at COR wheels for an example of what I'm talking about. COR is exemplary in their design concepts.
