I am looking for a 2005 SL55 in black or pewter.

What options should I consider as must have and which are nice to have but not deal breakers.

Thanks,
Hal

To be honest with you, the only option I use on a regular basis is the keyless go. If you aren't upgrading your COMAND, the voice command feature would probably be useful. I rarely notice my pano and usually have the sun shade shut...

The ventilated seats are better in my 65 than my 55...but I only really feel the cooling function when I have shorts on and the heating function is what I find most useful to warm up my back before I play golf in the morning.

The biggest thing about the SL55/65 is the engine and convertible top and really the only reason I got mine...everything else is gravy and if I didn't have them it wouldn't have been a deal breaker.

Well said Jon...Truthfully my car has no options, I like it that way and purposely looked for one that was not optioned. In the used car market options are grossly de-valued as deppreciation sets in to even out the market for cars w/ or w/out options. Furthermore, having a whole bunch of stuff means more things that (1) can go wrong (2) cost more to replace if need by by aftermarket or OE.

Just my $0.02

My car has a reasonably long option list but the only one I use regularly is the seat ventilation.

The one option that would be a pass in my book is the Pano roof. Other folks feel differently about that option.

Good luck with the search!
