Trunk Rattles
I went on a test drive-regular SL500 with only 19K miles. I kept hearing this creaking, like someone was walking on a staircase or getting comfortable in a leather couch. I've heard about these phantom trunk squeeks, what is this, how and how much to fix?
Second question, how much does it cost to replace that pull handle in the trunk and the carpet (about). Driver seemed to use it for ???? - but - would like to replace it (if I buy it).

Any purchase...after a test drive get an independent PPI (pre purchase inspection)...may cost you a couple hundred bucks but at least you did your due diligence.

If the noise only happens when you start or stop and not when you are just driving it's probably a loose gas tank baffle. Expensive fix.
