Carbon Fiber intake tubes... There's hope but not much
Here's my exchange with Rob from Carbonio on Ferrarichat...
Hi Simon,
Thanks for the inquiry. The 55 tubes for the SL is something that we would consider looking at but we need to pre-sell at least 15-20 sets to make the project at all worthwhile as tooling and prototyping is rather expensive. In addition to that the full project time from when we get the order confirmation to the point when the final parts are ready to ship would be a minumum of 6 months (could be more) as all of the production steps take a while. This is not a fast knock them off turn around project as we are starting from zero with nothing to tool off of. That said if you can get pre-paid orders for 15 sets at an estimated price of $650/set, non refundable, based on delivery in 6 months from the time we receive payment, then we can do it. I just want to be totally upfront with no unrealistic promises. I hope you understand. If you do pursue this on mbworld please send me a link to the post as I would be interested to see the feedback.
