HI guys,
Newbie here and I had a few questions for you:
1) Can the illuminated door sills be done by any dealer after purchase or is it done at time of purchase only?? Is the fee the same?
2) Is it something that can be done by anyone or do I need to make sure the tech. is rather savvy?
3) Can we choose to get "AMG" illuminated in the door sills or only "Mercedes"

1) From what my dealer told me when I ordered the door sills with my SL55, it is installed at the dealership, not at the factory, so I assume that it doesnt have to be installed at the time of purchase. As for the fee, they would probably charge you for the door sills (900ish?) plus installation (i think between 100-200)

2) From personal experience, these cars seem too new for the techs to really pin down any problems that occur, but I dont think door sills are too technically challenging to install for the techs

3) Not sure. I have only seen Mercedes ones tho.

they do make other's but i think AMG Special Wishes it has to be ordered through.

My car is in and they are adding the amg door sills to it. doesnt seem like a big deal at all. they are doing it for free to make up for another screwup so im not sure the cost. i think they told me its worth around 1100. thats canadian dollars.

i will post a pic next week and let you know if the job went smoothly.
