I got them installed and also lowered it at the same time at Ghost Motorsports in LA who was also exceptional in knowledge and overall service. Here are a few pictures I snapped with my cell phone. Thinking of removing the rear spoiler, seems like to much going on, what do you guys think?

Soooooooooooooooooooo much better.

Honestly, I think those OEM wheels are the ugliest things on an SL. They look so cheap. Those HREs look great on there.

I really wish I had White/Berry

Jeff,

Wheels look great! Are they 20's?

I would keep the spoiler, adds just a little bit of attitude.

I assume you are really enjoying the car.

I had my car tuned a few months back and it was a fantastic upgrade. Just a few tweaks to the ECU and the boost now comes on harder and a lot sooner.

The sun finally came out in NorCal and I have been enjoying some top down driving finally!

Regards,
Hal

Long time no talk Hal! Yes they're 20's. Car is fantastic, I'm glad your tuning made such a difference. I rarely drive with the top up here in SoCal - weren't we supposed to meet in Santa Barbara after we both found our SL's?

Can't believe it's been two years with this beast. Unfortunately, I'm considering selling now. Trying to see what I can get for it. If interested, send me a PM.

Great looking ride Doc. I'd leave the spoiler.

The only color combo I like better than yours is classic silver with graphite int. ;-)

Just wished my 65 sounded like a 55! Good luck with the sale.

Do not do a black wheel with white lip, I have 20" hre's and they had a gloss blk face with white lip and imho looked to gangster/rapperish. I have since had them re-powder coated to a matt black face with a gloss black lip, they look awesome now and I get compliments and head tuners everytime i have it out. My rear wheels have a fat lip and they look sweet when there clean but get dirty quickly with brake dust and everything. i will post pics up tomorrow

Jeff,

What's this about? You not loving it any longer?

I am still enjoying mine and thanking the Lord for the extended warranty! Expires in 2015 when I will consider upgrading to a newer one with more warranty time!

Regards,
Hal

Go with matte black, titanium graphite or gloss black with a machined stripe on the wheels and polished lips. That would pop ... or simply go with MB1's in this finish.

IngenereAMG, yes I bought this from AZ... should I be worried about what you know?
Nothing bad. I just know the car. About wheels. I use the AMG 19" split rim and I think the car looks great...

..... And don't forget we have some great performance enhancers!

Hi Hal,

We're expecting our first kiddo and I don't want to have a "second car" so I may part with this beauty. I am not actively listing it, because I truly enjoy the car and you remember how hard I looked for this color (and how I traveled to go pick it up!). Thanks for writing, I was wondering what you're up to!
