Activating day time running lights & making speedo km/h?
How do you activate the day time running lights in a 2003 SL55? Also, is is possible to change mp/h into km/h in the DIC or would you have to swap out the entire cluster assembly? I have someone interested in buying my SL55 and taking it back into Canada but says he would need to do these two things to make it legal there?

In the settings of your instrument cluster you should be able to change the settings as you propose. Daytime running lights should be in the "lighting" section. And the km/h setting should be in the "instrument cluster" section.

Although the manual for my 2003 SL states there is a menu item for miles/km it does not appear in my cars menu. Here's how I was able to get the ability to display km...
I have a 2003 in US.
Wanted to be able to switch to kph for visit to Canada.
Dealer was able to use their software tool to designate kph for one of my keys if I activated "Key dependent" in the "Convenience submenu" on the Multifunction display. On my recent trip I took along the proper key and started the trip with "Key dependent" off - mph. After crossing the border I pulled over and set "Key dependent" to on - kph. Speedometer, odometer, fuel milage, navigation system, etc - all switched over to metric measurements. Returning to US set "Key dependent" to off and was back to mph.
Good luck.

Problem is that your analog scale (outer ring dial) is maxing out at some 200 mph in the US. The km/h scale maxes out at 330km/h. You need a new analog ring. I found mine on ebay. My remaining issue is that the dealer can't find out why the analog scale is not tracking with the digital. Both mow set to km/h
