Wheel Sizes and Offset
Hey Guys,
I am new to the forum and really am clueless to the proper offset, size, etc. for the SL55.
What is the ideal size wheels (and tires) and the correct offsets? Would a set of wheels that'll fit the SL55 w/o any issue fit another model/year?
What are the ideal brands you guys like? What's not a good brand?

No problem. The offsets can vary on each rim, for example, the offsets on my HRE's are: +25 and +32.
The width of the rim can vary also, as I just gave the typical widths for a 20" set up. You can also run 8.5 in the front and 10.5 in the back. You can also go with a smaller tire set up such as 245/295.
The classifieds section in this forum always has great deals on wheel set ups.

Not sure if your interested in monoblock, but one of our authorized dealers has a set of these with tires ready to go. Used for about 100miles only (person bought wheels, then traded car in a week later 
)

Porsche guy who drives SL63 w/ perf pkg AND perf suspension
I recommend 19s because the tire sidewalls are taller and you risk less chance to damage a wheel. Which is common with a heavy car.
