I Didnt want to put another $800 in the carbon. I went way over with carbon on another car and dont want to add more cost on this one.
Really? How much are we talking to do the entire thing?

I dont remember exactly but figure over 3000 in all the parts plus several hours labor plus paint. i would expect 4000 to 5000 for the whole job

?????

The way I estimated everything it would not cost more than $2200. $800 for bumper, $800 for carbon diffuser, thats $1600. Redoing the sensors and painting with installing around $500 - $700 max

is right!
you have to figure $1500 for the bumper, $2000 for all associated parts, $800 for the CF, 8 to 12 hrs body shop work,
if you can do most of the work yourself you can account for that, if you happen to find that one of a kind used rear SL63 bumper for sale you can save alot there, but you should go to mercedes and get a parts list and cost to determine the final parts cost.

I bet if you go with OEM mercedes items, such as the bumper and everything else that is how much it will cost. I work for a dealership I do have a body shop as well, so I'm not worried about the amount of work and labor. This is a bolt on item, a little fitting that is all. I buy the bumber for $800 and get the Carbon Diffuser for another $800 that brings me up to $1600 plus shipping maybe 1800 together. The rest is all fitting, what associated parts are we talking about for $2000???? fill me in if you can that would be great. I do want to know what I'm going up against here, and going just for the rear look for around $5000 is simply not worth it. There are way better mods for $5000 than a bumper.

yeah I think that 5k is a bit much, and why would they be doing 12 hours of body work? If you bought a damaged bumper, that would be a maybe, but I would say 3 or 4 would be a generous estimate

Just curious? What do you do for an MB dealership to afford such a fine house, w/6 car garage to boot? I'd formally like to ask for an application

Yeah, if you can get a great deal like that, go ahead and buy it. Normal people can get up to 15% discount from mercedes, and jobber-body shop or mechanical shops get 18%, but if you can get all the parts cheap then do it.
Is it worth 8000$ to 10,000$ to put newer front and rear bumpers on your car? No of course not, thats why you only see 5 or 10 people who have ever done it. It just depends on what you want.

Not knocking your setup by any means, but how do your tires survive being that close to the fender and having that much camber? My car is at the stock height because I had some sidewall rubbing and had severe tire wear issues with the camber when it was lowered with the adjustable air ride links. My tires no longer rub at all but my front tires are at the point right now that they need to be swapped to the other side or the shoulder will be showing cords before too long. These tires don't even have 5k miles on em yet :-(. Also, if anyone knows how to get all four tires to zero camber or at least close, I'm all ears. These tires are too damned expensive to only be lasting a few thousand miles. I would be ecstatic to get 15-20k out of a set of fronts, my foot is too heavy to even give the rears a chance though.
