Warranty options over 100k
Right now I have plenty of time as my warranty expires May 2014 and 102k miles, but I'm wondering... will it just be time to sell it then?
What kind of options do I have as far as a warranty at that point?
The main reason I am asking now is because I've heard that it can be cheaper if you purchase the warranty in advance.

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
Basically,
None. You can find some short term coverage from some of the people who cater to BHPH car lots, but they're not going to pay much, if any claims on a $100k car. Be careful, lots of sharks in that water.

I can help you with something decent, but it will be expensive for the term and coverage offered. Pretend you are the warranty company; how much would YOU want to charge to cover your risk on an AMG supercharged air-suspension $100K Benz that has over 100K miles?? Risk is high, and therefore, warranties from good companies (if they will even offer coverage) is correspondingly expensive.

Solution...
You should just sell it to me now and buy a new one. Then you won't have to worry about it anymore!
Seriously, that's a nice car, I missed it by just a couple of days. Had looked at it before Christmas, then my wife had a car accident, a couple of things got in the way, and next thing you know I missed it. Enjoy.

I would go with this. In Germany, used Benzes are considered smart purchases ONLY if a warranty is available, so on the used market, they don't do too well unless they come from a dealer, since even used, warranty-lapsed cars can be purchased with an inexpensive factpry warranty, like mine was. In fact, mine was from VW, as the car came from a VW dealer. Unfortunately, the US extended warranty system sucks. Here, they probably put at least 10,000 euros in repairs down on my car, mostly owing to damaging the car during repair of the rack and then incurring other expenses due to it (loaner, speeding tickets the transporter got, etc). Check around, especially if you have time....
