SL55 IC Pump repair

My SL600 deal fell through so I'm now considering SL55's.

I test drove one today, but half way through the test drive, the car lost all power and would barley accelerate. I'd assume it went into limp mode. I restarted the car and it made it through the second test drive loop...but I was spooked. Based on what I've read here I'd bet the car needs an IC pump repair. What will that run me? (Ballpark)

It could be the pump. It may not be, though. Can you take it somewhere to have it looked at to be sure?

+1

When my IC pump failed the car lost a lot of power but could still run a 14 second 1/4 mile. It did not go into a limp home mode.

With the power loss you descibed there might be additional issues as The Head suggests.

Is it better to buy the whole kit or just the pump

just the pump. Mine died aswell, got the pump free from a very good friend and swapped it myself in about 2 hours, and half the time I was talking to some kids about my car while it idled.
