Front caliper torx/bolt size?

Anyone know what size the two hex front bolts are that hold the caliper in place are? I read that the rear bolts are E18 Torx but can't find any information on the front ones. Thanks...

Just get a big set and keep trying until you find the one that fits. Money spent on good tools is never wasted.

I think the front and rear are the same, its a e18 but you need to buy a set like S-K and it has the e18 in 1/2 " drive , you need that

If you're talking about the torx on the front of the caliper, you DO NOT REMOVE that torx screw unless you're trying to split the caliper in half. You can replace the pads by just removing the pins.

I agree on buying tools is a good investment except that I already have a bunch of the smaller ones. This one is odd because it is a lot bigger.

The rear calipers require the female E18 torx. The front calipers appear to require a large male HEX socket. I am actually doing the rotors and pads so unfortunately I need to remove the caliper to get the rotor off. There is one big bolt on the top and one big bolt on the bottom of the front caliper, these are the two I am talking about that would appear to allow removal of the caliper.

Ok so I found a few posts saying that the correct size for the front is a "21MM socket." To my knowledge there was no way to get a regular open face female socket onto the caliper bolt as it was sunk in and flush. It appeared to need a male hex bit. Am I looking at the right bolts or can you actually get a regular socket onto the bolt to remove the caliper?

If I remember correctly, you only have to remove the two hex bolts behind the rotor holding the caliper to the rotor. I dont think they were torx.

Ok I feel pretty silly now It was late at night after work the first time I tried to start the brake job. I was actually looking at the wrong bolts. There are two female hex bolts about in the middle of the caliper "top and bottom" that must split the caliper in half like someone else mentioned. I found the correct 21MM bolts in the rear of the caliper and got them off fairly easy. Job is all done and they are most certainly 21MM
