New SL55 Project advice on Supercharter Pulley Kit
Ok, Ive just secured a deal on my 2nd SL55 and Im going to have a play with this one.
I have a long list of parts I'm going to buy but wanted some good advice re supercharter pulleys for the SL55. I have never installed a supercharger pulley kit and wanted to know if its purely hardware or if I'd have to have the ECU tweaked at all?
Ive doner some research and see that there are lots of different sizes available and lots of companies. ASP seems to feature a lot?
Any advice on which one to use would be great!

ASP makes a great pulley are a great price. If you run a 180mm pulley ( and you want too) You will need a retune of the ECU. Most of the 55's I've seen on the dyno have fat AFR's. The amount of timing pulled out and fuel mixing will depend on if you go with a header setup.
Basic rule of thumb on a 55k: Pulley=tune, you kind of have to do them together. Long headers alone= tune not required, but you will have to live with a post cat CEL. I drove around for 6 months if not longer with that post cat CEL. Now if you do all three pulley, tune, long tube headers, the CEL will he shut off in the tuning and you will make a boat load of power.
There are alot of great products and companies out there.. So do some research on who you would like to work with. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
Best regards
Mike

To be honest Ive not given budget much thought. I dont think Id be wanting to spend more than 3k on engine mods.
I know Ill be getting a CM30 pump and various other bits Im also ok with picking up second hand bits as long as they arent too old.

MBWorld Fanatic!
If I was starting over with a 55k, I would do LTH and tune as the first mod. Then HE and Pump, pulley and retune. Lastly, TB (82) and maybe airbox.
