HELP!!!! Trunk flap broken, ABC suspension messed up!!!!
Hello all, brought the 03' SL55 AMG in for inspection and Merc gave me a list of suspension issues that needed my attention. Mostly bushings on the thrust and control arms. Just heard from auto repair guy (not Merc dealer) that my ABC is bad in front and rear and needs replacing or some variation. What should I do here? Considerable difference in opinion and cost. Also, they said they can't fix my trunk flap issue for the retractable roof. They want me to bring to Merc dealer to have them fix it. Any ideas on cost for this? Can I fix it myself? Any help would be apprciated. Thanks.

I had a merc dealer install a broken flap on my car. I don't remember exactly what it cost, but it wasn't cheap. (maybe 800 parts/labor). I remember the problem is that you can only buy the flaps in pairs. Maybe you can find a single one elsewhere.

The bracket broke that houses the whole gear mechanism, so I think I need the whole flap. Originally it was just the gear cover that was broken and prevented the gears from meshing properly. Thanks b
