If you want to resell the accident on the Carfax will ding the value about 15-20%, based on my experience. Also, the description is a little high on marketing.

I think the colors are nice, but I would not buy a car with an accident unless it was really cheap or if you are going to run it until it drops and you don't care that the resale will take a hit withthe accident and replaced body parts.

And getting a warranty will cost a lot for the SL55.

The accident is no big deal. He replaced the rear bumper cover. Just get the car inspected and make sure that's all it needed. Get service records. If he doesn't have them, run, don't walk away.

62K isn't high for a 2003, but stuff starts to break. Especially in a complex car like an SL55. I don't think you'll have an easy time finding a good warranty for an 8 year old car with those kind if miles. Put $5K in the bank for repairs, You'd be better off.

That's my car in the ad, sold it today off ebay for the full asking price. The car sold itself. showed the car to only 3 people over the weekend, the one that came back first on Monday with the cash got it. BTW the accident was in bumper to bumper traffic with a car tapping the bumper cover and putting 2 small nicks/cracks on it, so I reported it and got a brand new genuine MB "new model" bumper cover courtesy of the other guys insurance company. Nothing wrong with the car, runs flawless, full service records, lots of extras including all the original items that were changed. Just got bored after owning it for 2 years even though the car never fails to get attention and turns heads. Now on to the next great car.
