Staring at the demon's eyes

Only a few weeks into owning an SL55 I got the dreaded ABC - drive carefully message lit up all in red on my gauge cluster (aka the demon eyes). I was hoping to make it through summer but alas it was not meant to be. The part that really mad me sad was that I had just come back from waiting in line at the local UPS center to pick up the windscreen I ordered, and I was finally ready to do some open-topped cold weather motoring. (They say it is summer in San Francisco but you would never know it with the fog and rain in the forecast!)

Then just to make me really regret my purchase decision, the stupid trunk stopped closing at the service bay of the dealer this morning! Seriously.

OK, I am done complaining. I will research all the ABC threads here, and now the trunk threads too, but I had to get this off my chest to the only people I know who would really get the frustration I am feeling.

Thanks all. If you have any tips or good recommendations for local MB specialists in the Bay Area please pass them along.

If it's the trunk auto close, that's a simple solution and the step by step fix is on this forum... The ABC, a little more different... If it's the strut itself, $700 plus install per strut for a reman with lifetime warranty. The pump or distribution block... more!!

I had the same issue within months of ownership, auto close is a 30 min self fix... The struct as mentioned above...
