insurance while on a track
I was thinking about taking my SL65 to Infineon for their Wednesday night drag. I wondering about insurance coverage while on the track. For obvious reasons I don't want to call my agent (State Farm) and ask if I'm covered. Does anyone know?
Also Infineon has a lot of rules that might prohibit my SL65. For example cars under 12 seconds need a roll bar and 5 point harness. Has anyone gone to Infineon and seen this enforced for a SL65?

You are not covered by your standard auto insurance. The track will not cover you if you put it in a wall, if someone wrecks into you, if you snap an axle, or if someone throws a Molotov cocktail into your window while you're going down the track. Liability is 100% with the driver. You'll sign a waiver when you put the car through tech-inspection. That said, incidents involving street cars is very minimal. It's more dangerous to drive from your driveway to 7-11.
Most NHRA/IHRA tracks will require a helmet for any car quicker than 14.00 and a roll cage for any car running 11.49 or quicker. The 12.00 roll cage rule, is for open top convertibles (Think Shelby Cobra) and dune buggies. You're obviously going to run with the hard top up, so you will not be subject to that.
