Moving Up the Food Chain!
Hello all. I am the proud owner of a 2005 Stage II Kleemann E55 with an EvoSport Cooling upgrade and RennTech CF airbox. By this time next week, with the assistance of the apparently weakened U.S. dollar, it will be magically transformed into a bone stock 2006 SL65 with 27k miles. I started my AMG love affair with an 01 CLK55 and just seem to continue my climb up the food chain with - ahem - 'previously enjoyed' models.
The Evo Cooling Kit was probably the single best mod I did to the 55. I do think reinforcing the factory car's cooling capabilities is necessary before boosting the performance. I live in Kansas City and we are on our 14th plus consecutive day above 100 degrees. I see Renntech offers an aftermarked heat exchanger and pump for the 65 series cars for $3500 and "Eurocharged" offers a similar package for $999. Anybody have the Eurocharged kit on their 65? Any fitment issues? How about Eurocharged ECU tuning? Again, very favorably priced compared to Renntech and Kleemann and they post dyno sheets to verify results.
I am definitely going to mod the new 65 but I want some first hand experience and advice before I commit to anything. Any and all opinions valid and welcome. THANK YOU!
