I live in California, Bay Area, and want to upgrade the Comand Center on my SL55. Ideally I'd like to rip it out and replace it with a modern dual-DIN system. Any recommendations on a shop to do the work? (Nov 9, 2011)

I have a Pioneer AVIC Z120BT head unit with a JL Audio amp and I love it. The sound quality in the the stock speakers is greatly improved. I header you can get this head unit for under $900 now. I paid $1500 a while ago for it. It was worth it then and its worth it now. It has Nav, Ipod integration (with album art display), Pandora, SD card slot, It plays movies, CD's CD-RW, DVD, DVD-RW, Bluetooth, touch screen. The list goes on. Its a great head unit.

Im sure there are other head units that are great on the market. I just happen to go with Pioneer.

I'm planning the exact same thing for my 2004 SL55 and I'm in the south bay.

My local shop is working on a quote with a AVIC-Z130BT head unit and double-din with custom enclosure so it looks stock. I should have quote in a day or two. Maybe we can get a group discount??
