SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Servicing sucks
When I look through what a B service on a low mileage car it's all ..check
this and check that.. with an oil and filter, but they want £599 ($976 )
just to check. There is no service book to stamp, they say it goes on
computer, but what if you have another garage service it using genuine
parts, it's quite legal, how do they make a record of it, at Mercedes
Reading these forums, I was bracing for the worst, but my total bill for A service, state inspection and emission, and replacing a bushing on the transmission was $480.
Not as bad as I thought it would be.
Good luck.

get it done in a non Mercedes dealers for much less, but you don't get
that Mercedes stamp. There is no book to stamp anymore, is that the same
for your car, particularly if it's under 3 years old. Then there's the warranty,
my car hasn't put a foot wrong, is it worth paying a grand for a years
extended warranty.

Remember the minute the mechanic takes your car the labour clock is ticking.
What's a service history worth after 3 years

I just had my C class stolen, my son in law left the keys in it while he stopped for a wee, gone!
So I just bought another, I asked if it had fullMB service, yes I was told, a couple of days after the car was delivered I looked at the service book, only 1 MB service, and 4 non MB. When I phoned the Mercedes dealer he said after 3/4 years it really doesn't matter.
