cant put power to the ground
i swear- with the cold weather my 65 becomes a challenge to drive fast.
going 70 mph on the highway and flooring it results in driver side wheel spin and mini slide followed by passenger side wheel spin and slide the other way. repeat 2-3 times up to 100-120 where it finally hooks up.
i run 295 michelins...
it is almost like the lsd is too slow to transfer tq to the proper wheel..
what is your experience?

yes, I noticed spin at 60 mph the other day in Michigan.
I think a set of winter tires which stay more supple in the cool temps would help.

Garage Temporarily Empty
I agree with the posts above in that if you're running summer tires, they're so hard in the cold temps, they just have trouble hooking up.
I have that same problem in my 600, especially after the Eurocharged tune.
Also remember your car is making every bit of power it should in the cold weather, unlike in the summertime, where your IAT's are likely higher and the ECU is pulling some timing and boost because of the heat.
I notice a big power difference between 90 degrees F and 40 degrees F.

Traction
+1. Tires have a huge impact, especially when ambient temps drop.
I just had a set of 295 Toyo Proxes 1 installed in the rear, and the traction improvement is amazing. I was running stock 285 size Michelin PS2's; after a hot Summer Season they were overwhelmed at part throttle in anything under 55 degrees. The rubber seems to harden after a while, and traction, or the lack therof, is very apparent. As FYI, there is a guy on Ebay selling the Toyos cheap right now.
Also having traction challenges with my E63, despite having recently installed a Quaife. The PS2's were awesome when new but are now 2 seasons old and just don't hook up well anymore. Presently trying to decide what rear tires to put on it for next season, not sure if I'm going to splurge for Michelins again.
Ironically, my little C55, which came to me with new Hankook V12's, seems to do quite well. I had my doubts, and it also makes much less power, but these tires actually seem to be pretty o.k. so far in cooler weather. I'm starting to like them.
