ABC VISIT WORKSHOP PROBLEM
Hi guys,
I bought a 2003 SL 55 and notice it shows a malfunction on dashboard saying " ABC Visit Workshop" Any ideas on what's wrong with the ABC? Seeing if anyone has opinions. Car doesn't have any height issues and all 4 wheels sit equally. Car was never lowered but I compared it with my friend's SL 500 and somehow my car feels SOFTER than his both with ABC SPORT on. His car is lowered with links and I know the lower you go, the stiffer the feel but wondering if there is that much difference or is my ABC dying. If dying, which part of the ABC?

If there is nothing wrong visually you cannot troubleshoot it without sds. There could be many things wrong. My bet is on a sensor gone bad as your abc appears to work as expected.

After the car has been running for a while and you have used her, does the malfunction go away? Have you tried shutting her down after you use her for a while and start it back up? Is it still coming on? My problem was simply my consumer battery was draining when she sat unused which causes that to happen. It was happening to me. I picked up a new battery in the trunk and now keep a trickle charger on her and it has never happened again.
Not sure if thats's your problem but my ABC visit workshop came on all the time when my consumer battery was drained and going bad.

Winter storage
Which of the batteries do you trickle charge?
My dealer told me, the starter battery only (the one in the engine compartment).
Re ABC suspension
If the car is not driven for a while, which setting is best for storage?
For longer storage: Has anyone tried to put an SL55 onto blocks, to keep some of the the weight off the suspension and the tires?
Thanks.
