DIY Motor Mounts SL55

Has anyone done thier own Motor Mounts? I'm looking for some detailed instructions. I have heard they are pretty straight forward but, dont want to try and tackle if it's over my head.

Thanks

motor mounts require the engine to be lifted a bit. this pretty much means that you need to disconnect the exhaust and be very careful with the harnesses.

the motor/ tranny combo is not very suitable for pushing from the bottom (no good place to place tranny jacks) so you need to do it with an cherry picker from above.

it can be done, but is not trivial. it is even uglier on the v12 tt motors.

the dealer quotes 4 hours of labor (i think- do not quote me)

the tranny mount on the other hand is a 30 minute job.

OK - Thanks. Not sure I want to mess with it. $500 in labor is what i am being told plus another $300 in parts including tranny mount.

lol thats crazy a local dealership quoted me over 3k+ for a motor mount. I would've laughed in their face and walked away but it was covered under warranty

If this is for all three then it is an excellent quote. Go with it.
