SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: 2012 SL550 will do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds!?

2012 SL550 will do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds!?
Automobile magazine states Mercedes has estimated 0-60 for the base SL550 will be 4.5 seconds.
If true, the new base SL550 will be as fast (or nearly as fast) as a stock R230 SL55 and SL63. I'm sure this forum will have it doubts. But if true, then what?

Keep in mind, that the AMG flavors of the R230 SL, have severe traction issues which will slow the 0-60 time. The 550 won't suffer from this as much.
When I dead hook on drag radials, my 0-60 has been calculated to 3.4 seconds.

Keep in mind this same 4.6 liter biturbo v8 got 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds in the 2011 CL 550 coupe.....the CL I think weighs around 4500 lbs and according to Mercedes the 2013 model SL 550 will weigh 3900 lbs....so figure 3.9 seconds...and thats before an ecu/tcu upgrade and LSD, etc......mid 3's should be possible with just a few choice tuning upgrades....don't you guys think? Can't wait to see the pics and stats for the all new SL 63!

I am not sure how we went from R129 to R230 though, but that is the German's for you. The only people that could have a 63 with either 6.3 NA or a 5.5 biturbo engine.
