Yellow check engine light came on....won't go off.
I drove my car down to 0 miles yesterday on the range. I refilled it to the top.....drove about 10 miles. I then drove back to my house....another 30 miles and parked car in garage. All was fine. I left to get something to eat 20 minutes later and the check engine light came on.
I checked the gas cap...it's on tight. The car is running smooth.....has mileage seems fine. I went back home last night....and have been driving car somewhat today....same thing, orange CEL stays on....I drove maybe 25 miles today.
Any ideas? Everything seems fine....and it's odd that light went on after I almost drove on it empty.

The code needs to be read
It is possible that you sucked some junk from the bottom of the tank and the code is something about the fuel system.
Or it could be a coincidence and your cel is not related to your running to empty.

LOL, funny jwrichter.
I had my front pads and rotors done last night and they must have reset the code as the check engine light wasn't on when I picked car up. I drove 200 miles today and last night and it still hasn't come back on....so it must have been due to the almost empty tank the other day and just needing the light to be reset.
