Aluminum Trim
I have the Aluminum Trim in my '05 55.
It appears to be real aluminum (is it?).
If so, it could be polished (to a mirror like finish).
I wonder, has anyone attempted this?

I think it may be aluminium, or steel. aluminium would bend or dent easy.. but it is painted with a texture coat paint. so polish wouldnt be sensable at any means. Just repaint it with a silver or aluminium paint

You know, sometimes it feels like metal and sometimes it feels like plastic. Probably best thing would be to try to live with it, or replace it with CF from DCTM.

i recently purchased a 2004 SL55 with the aluminum trim also.
I would prefer the wood trim. Does anyone know where I can get the wood trim for doors and console? Would the trim from a SL550 fit if were to find it?
