Gas tank replacement
Has anyone had the gas tank replaced to correct the fuel pump noise? I was told by MB of North America that I was the guina pig for the replacement. I was trying to find out if this is true. It only took the dealer 3 days to remove the old tank with the help of MB tech hotline. So there maybe truth to what they said. I hope to have my car back Monday and hopefully no more noise. It was getting very loud . Louder than the comfort seats and sometines the a/c.

FUEL PUMP NOISE IN GAS TANK
I HAVE THE SAME NOISE. I WAS TOLD THE SAME THING 2 TO 3 DAYS TO REPLACE.
ITS A GREAT CAR WITH A FEW MILES ON IT AND IM WORRIED THAT A MAJOR PROJECT LIKE THIS MIGHT MESS UP SOMETHING ELSE. HAS ANYONE ELSE MADE THIS FIX? MY PARTS ARE ON ORDER FROM THE FACTORY.

any updates? my tank makes the same rattling noise, but it seems completely random. somebody mentioned theirs only makes noise when more than 1/2 full, but for me, it comes and goes...

They are still working on it and juging from the fact the new tank was still not installed at 2 pm; I will not see the car today. It has been a week (8 am last Monday).

Tanks seemed to be backordered. I was very surprised to get one. I did complain to MBUSA. Maybe they due listen. No car or call from service rep, so I guess they are still having trouble.
