New owner and have another technical questions.

Hello everyone,

I have another technical question. For some reason, my "Load assist" button seems to be malfunctioning. When my roof is folded inside the trunk and I need to gain access to the trunk to put things in. When I press the "Load assist" button to slightly raise the roof, my roof does not raise up. What can be the possible cause of this problem and what can I do to fix it? Please help me. Thanx!

It's because your trunk cover isn't fully raised up. You have to push it all the way up.
Your trunk struts are probably going bad so you will have to get them replaced.

First of all, I would like to thank you rune solem for your help. But I actually tried that also, I even made sure that the luggage cover is properly in place where it was supposed to be and so as the other things that needs to be according to the manual. But my roof was still not moving at all. I even noticed that the light on the button is lit. Is it possible that maybe the fuse or relay for the load assist is the problem? Do you happen to know which fuse or relay and where it is located at? Maybe I just need to change it. If you do, please let me know. Thanx again for you help.

No, i'm sorry, but i don't know how to fix it.
I had the same problem, but it was just the struts in my car that was the problem.

Hope someone else can help :-)

Oh I see, it's ok. Hopefully someone else will be able to help me. Most likely, I'll just bring it to the old place my Brother used to work. Oh and speaking of that, If you happen to live around San Diego Ca. You might wanna look up Moonlight motors, coz my Brother and I can help you out get a discount on Mercedes maintenance. And everyone here in MBWorld. They work on exotic cars, domestic and imports. Thanx again rune solem.

You might want to check the microswitches located on the trunk hinges. When the trunk is completely open, the microswitches are engaged and that is what allows the Load Assist to work. You might have a loose connection at the microswitches or defective microswitch.
