Exclamation Arnott Shock Absorber Quality - Any good? Plus tips for shock replacement

Hi all,

Read on here that many people have been replacing faulty struts with Arnott remanufactured units, has anyone that is using them had any issues?

I read lots of people suggesting these on here but a chap in the UK told me he had trouble with a SL55 that had Arnott shocks all round. I asked what issues but he never replied.

Just wanted to check on here that people have used them with good results as I have a new front left Arnott shock on order, awaiting delivery as we speak. There is nothing wrong with the actual strut on my car just the ball joint is worn past the point of no return, do the Arnott units come with new ball joints? If so do they manufacture these? I didn't think you could replace the ball joint alone so how do they do it?

Also any tips for removal / refit? I noticed people had sagging issues after installing new front shock so I want to avoid these issues. I understand they the pressure must be released before removing the shock, once on do I need to get the oil hot and rodeo the car for 10 mins? What about flusing the ABC system, how many times do I need to do this and how many filters do people go through.

My car has new valvebodies, pump and new front shocks so I want to make sure the installation is done to the highest standard to avoid future issues.

Any help appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Toby

Arnott

No issues with replacement strut...lifetime warranty better than OEM.........also $ 599 versus $ 1,200......quality seems better also....
