WTB: Silver 05-06 SL65 or 07-08 SL55 with less then 60k miles.

Title says it all. I wasn't planing on dumping my car until next summer, but with prices tumbling on 05-06 SL65's and 07-08 SL55's, I now think I may have a chance to score one of those cars with 50-59k miles for $45,000.00 or less.

Silver is a must. Why silver? I'm DONE keeping a black car clean. It's a pain.

Why less then 60k? Because I'm going to get a Fidelity warranty.

$45k may seem low based on the advertised prices in autotrader and on ebay, but I've caught wind lately of both 05-06 SL65's AND 07-08 SL55's that have sold in this range.

Ideally I'd like a 07-08 SL55 as I prefer the supercharged V8. However if I have the chance to get a 05-06 SL65 for the same price I may have to jump since those cars still qualify for a good warranty plan.

I know I could easily score an 05-06 SL55 for this price, but I really want the updated changes they made in 2007. Everyone says the 07-08 SL55 cars just drive better then the 03-06 SL55's.

Nice SL65's with up to 70K miles sell for $45K or more at Manheim before any fees. There are below average cars that may fall into the $42K plus fees range, but average and above average cars are not there yet. This is true of 2005's as well.

There is a silver 2006 with 48K miles going on the block next week BTW.

There are some SL55's around too. Feel free to email me if you would like me to look at anything for you. I buy cars on a custom-order basis for 5% over Manheim cost for my clients.

You can have up to 75K miles and still qualify for Fidelity Platinum. To keep cost close to sane levels, though, stay below 70K. And then the lower the miles, the less the warranty costs.

But it's not proportional. A 68K mile car's 3 year warranty might cost $2K more than a 58K mile car's plan. But the 58K mile car will cost $5K more than the 68K mile car.

Thanks Bruce. I was gonna grab a Fidelity warranty from ya about a year ago before I found my current car with a warranty already in place.

I've got Manheim access and I agree that MMR numbers aren't quite as low as I'd like just yet, but it seems that dealers are paying more for these cars at auction then they may be able to sell them for as my buddy just scored a silver 05 SL65 for $44k in the bay area. I also saw a silver 2007 SL55 sell on ebay for $45k. The deals are out there, I just gotta find them.

If you see any silver 05-06 SL65 or silver 07-08 SL55's for screaming deals that you can put a Fidelity platinum/$100 deductible on, please pm me. I really want to get back in a 55. I miss the engine whine and exhaust note.
