help - abc repair + brake flush + transmission service + struts

my 03 sl55 got the abc visit workshop light, payed 245 for an inspection this is what they found (see attachment). there is a dime size leak on my left abc rear strut + both struts need to be replace + sbc brake flush + transmission service + replace system battery. i also have a SERVICE A due within couple weeks. also i never seen a drop of fluid on the floor (dime size leak). TOTAL MB DEALER REPAIR COMES TO= $3560 + TAX

here are the part #'s the SA kindly provided:

Left Rear ABC Strut 230320471388
Fluid Q1320001

Left Torque Strut 2113304311
Right Torque Strut 2113304411
Bushings (2) 2113331114
Nuts (4) 000000003281

System Battery 0045418601

my questions:

1-what is a transmission service (t17) - is that just a transmission flush?
2-what service type would take care of most of these problems considering that i also need a service A done?
3-carfax shows my system battery has been changed twice already. do i really need to change it? or do i just need a trickle charger watever thats called?
4- i heard of arnott, are they really good quality? if i change one to arnott do i have to change the others as well?
5- any tips / comments / things i should be concerned of?

^ Sorry to hear the bad news. I don't really have any answers for you.

As far as the tranny service, I am quite sure changing the fluid and the filter is all they recommend. MB used to say our trannys never needed service, then they changed their minds at some point. I need a tranny service myself and have been watching this thread on the planet closely. http://www.**************.com/forum/...ad.php?t=21000

Do you know for sure which battery they are talking about? I am thinking the service battery is the one in the engine bay and the one in the trunk is called consumer electronic battery or something like that. As far as trickle chargers, our cars are busy using power even while sitting in the garage. If I am not going to run the SL for a week or longer, I hook up my trickle charger to the battery in the trunk. My car sits like that all winter in fact.

I just noticed the mods blocked the link for whatever reason. Shoot me a PM if you want the link.

Stop going to the dealer..LOL. I dont care how well a car is taken care of, the dealer will find something (lots of things) wrong with it.

Get one of these, if my car is parked for 3 days I plug it in
