Kinda nice to be able to just say "yeah, I bought it this way"
**also nice to win a race having forgotten to turn off the a/c

I hope you put the top down upon hearing the comment "...it's not a muscle car" ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Really?
I'll have to file that away for later. You know, when I inevitably give in and start becoming a "semi" regular at the track. Damn it, I know its going to happen!
Almost every Mustang, Camaro, and Dodge was wearing higher profile street slicks and here I was, the only foreign car there on 20's and 30 series tires. I was a bit out of place. Surprisingly there wasn't a single ricer there either. I guess those guys only show up for test 'n tune days.
I did get a few sideways looks...remember its Pittsburgh...but I think I represented well. The best was this guy and his gf. They gave it a pretty good look in the staging lanes. She said to him "its okay" and he crinkled up his nose and said "yeah, but its not a muscle car." He was in a WS6 Trans Am on street slicks and I think he was running around 12.20. Obviously modified. He was a few cars behind me and I only hope he took note of the 12.58 from the stock "non muscle car."![evil tongue](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eviltongue.gif)

Okay over 10 months have passed since my last time at the drag strip and yesterday looked perfect for another crack at it. The grass was cut, low humidity, 68 degrees, and most importantly my wife wasn't working and the kids were preoccupied with other stuff.
Much to my surprise the car ran even better. I got 3 passes before I decided to call it a day and my best run was a 12.18 @ 113. I never thought that there was another 4/10 in the car, but there was.![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I saw the red light come on and as I was going down the track I glanced up at the board and it read -0.00 so I knew it was close, but I had no idea.
