Brake pad worn visit workshop
Bought this 2003 sl 55 amg new and has 6,200 miles on it. The brake pads worn visit workshop light came on. I checked the brakes pads and they are like new so I changed the wear sensors which also looked fine. There are only 2 one on the right front and one on the right rear. But the light is still on.
Any ideas??

Look for unplugged sensor connectors along the harness.
Ideally the car can be read to pinpoint which one is the offending circuit- the front or the rear.
Did you inspect the inner side brake pads? They are the ones that usually go first. But at 6500 miles unless heavily tracked my bet is a faulty harness.

Thanks Alx, The inner and outer pads are fine. When I pulled out the sensors there was no sign of them touching the rotor at all. Changed them anyway. I have a chinese mercedes star which diagnosed my a/c problem but I do not think it can test the sensor circut. That was my next step to check the circut with an ohm meter. I have the service manual on a cd but in the wiring diagrams it only shows a circut for the right front sensor and not the right rear one. Seems strange.
Thanks, John
