Programming Key Fob
The 2006 SL65 I just bought only came with one key fob. I went to the local dealer to order a new one and they inform me it is $450, but they can order one for me right away. 
The RUF dealer here in Dallas that sold me the car told me he had a couple spares that look just like my original fob that he would give me.
My question is this. Can any key fob be programmed to work with my car?

the mb keyfobs are a one time deal.
once mated to a car they key cannot be erased and reprogrammed to another car.
you can use the shell of an old key if yours broke and replace the internals, but that is about it.
the dealer is the _only_ place that legally has key coding capabilities.
i understand the security considerations, but talk about cornering a market
