Im surprised no one offers a muffler delete pipe with tips. That would make it a simple bolt on part that could be reversed at will.

SL65-AMG only have 1x Cat plus one muffler per side (6cyl). If you remove the mufflers you get the sound the car should have had from factory. Not too load just better :-). I would love it to bee even more load, so will have to remove the cats.....:-)

I'm in the middle of doing catless downpipes right now so that's why I'm asking if guys ran straight pipes or h-pipe from the downpipe back.

I don't know why more people don't try electronic remote controlled exhaust cutouts on their AMGs. I had some on my C63 which, yes is a V8, but it amps everything up nicely. Would love to hear a v12 with some. Nice and cheap too.

You will never get a V12 to sound like a V8, it is the nature of the beast
I bought my SL65 with most of the exhaust deleted and although it sounded
slightly louder than my previous 65 I didn't realise. The trouble is when do
you stop, mine was nice but a little annoying sometimes. Now I am back
in a Naturally aspirated 63 the fantastic exhaust tone is back

Well I'll be running open downpipes for about a week while waiting for the mandrel bends to get here. I'll post vids in my build thread once they are on, I'm just waiting to get Thericker on the phone.
