SL Forum

bunch of c-class pics
There was never any discussion about C-Classes. The pics were strictly about quality image photos versus those that are not. Examples of high quality digital photos were shown.

more interesting than photoshop - it was ancillary anyway
But this thread dealt primarily with the photoshop editing of that SL. CLK is still not SL, and what's more interesting is irrelvent to the forum purpose. If this is the case, then the C-Class photos were much more "ancillary" than the other.

The only off-topic discussions here were the horspower figures of other (non SL) cars. Still, Shank's numbers on the dyno would be certainly welcome.

Sorry, my mistake. I guess I just got caught up in the contentious tenor of the entire thread. I hope this thread doesn't dissuade Shank form posting here b/c he definitely has cars that I'm interested in seeing and seems to be an enthusiast that would have alot to add to this board.

What's with this displaying of people's IP addresses, etc. in your signature?

Like one of the various notes the animated sign posted, you do have a lot of time on your hands.

I'll have to write a pointed letter to Zone Labs for their woeful misrepresentation of IP protecting software. I'll have to close my ports now, too. We've got people like you (or the ones you trigger) to be on alert for. Thanks a lot!
Hold on a sec there, Mr. IT genius. First of all you're WAY off topic... I saw the Porsche group that the poster in question moderates/administrates and now know the car is very real, so my apologies to him and congratulations on a beautiful machine. As for the signature, it's readily available on the 'net and is merely a cute piece of javascript. I'm not the only person that uses it and didn't write it BUT think it's rather neat.

It does nothing more than display the IP address you are using when browsing the net AND only displays YOUR IP address to YOU. If your IP has a domain name associated with it it'll show that as well. It doesn't track IPs or anything like that.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but when you pull down a webpage you broadcast your IP to every router along the path from you to the server and every server you pull content from... kinda hard to get the data to you without an address to send it to, no? If you truly want to hide your IP address, get a hardware router that does Network Address Translation (they all do) as well as firewalling and skip the software crap that only works halfway at best.

Zone labs software can't keep someone from getting your IP address and never claimed to be able to do so. What it CAN do is keep your computer from being detectable on the internet (ping suppression and such and showing ports as non-existant when scanned). The only way you can manage to hide your IP without hardware is NOT TO USE THE 'NET!

you’re WAY off topic
The sign troubles me and IT is "off topic." I'm not going to avoid mentioning this simply because of thread topics. Understand? I don't see it as a "merely a cute piece of javascript." Its use in this forum is hardly pertinent to the subject matter or purpose of said forum.

Secondly, the authenticity of the car was not challenged by most. The matter was why the poorly edited photos were presented as such, causing specualtion by some, and how they tended to detract from what would have looked well enough alone.

If you had actually read back through the thread, you would realize this. What's "off topic" is your misunderstanding of this.

It does nothing more than display the IP address you are using when browsing the net AND only displays YOUR IP address to YOU.
Well let's hope this is all.

Measures of IP address security belong elsewhere, as do devices that toy around with disclosure of same. Appreciating the tutorial you've given, notwithstanding, the "WAY off topic" description best applies to these "cute" little toys that do more to raise suspicion than contribute to these actual "topics" here.

How much were your rims roughly?
Are they special order?
Are there any non special ordes that will fit on the new SL500?

Hola,

Yes, it is special order from inden design. Inded uses a 360 offset for the wheel, and it requires spacers to clear the calipers. Car looks unbelievable in person. The rims set me back 5400 with tires - not bad, considering HRE costs 3 billion.

i would think for someone with the collection of cars you have HRE's would be mere chump change....

i notice you have your car up on ebay. Why would you want to sell such a nice car?? Anyway, good luck, i'm sure you won't have trouble finding someone who wants it...

anyway, the pics you have on the auction should prove that the car and wheels are not
