Exactly right! I think the piggish weight of our cars also contributes to wear on the thrust arm, bushings, sleeves, etc. The torque load on the tranny and motor mounts is significant and even worse on the modded engines like mine. Maybe that is why I am on my third set of motor mounts.

Three sets for you too. I don't feel so bad. Are you running mods?

Some questions.
So no one makes better aftermarket motor mounts? Is there any diy for motor mount and trans mount changes. What does the dealership charge to change these? Would think motor mounts would be really expensive for labor?

No aftermarket mounts that meet or exceed updated oem mounts.

You don't need a DIY. You do need a lift and a tranny jack or two. Raise the car and take a look. They are self explanatory. You might need to raise a bit the engine and that is what th tranny jacks are for. More so on th v12tt cars. People have done it with ramps and engine hoist, but i have no experince with this method.

Th dealer will charge 4-6 hours for labor for the v8 and 6-8 for the v12.

Ok so when did the updated mounts come in and are they a lot stronger?

Figured trans mount would be fairly simple to change they usually are and motor mounts can sometimes be a real bi##@.

I believe in 07. But I am not sure as I don't have epc in front of me. Th updated ones are supposed to be stronger. Not sure as I have seen them fail just like the old ones. I don't think you can even buy the old ones anymore.

The engine mounts are a ***** on the v8 and x2 on the v12tt cars. The tranny mount is easy.
