at high speeds weight plays virtually no role as acceleration is weak- it is all tq to the ground which at said speed is also known as hp ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
so at over 120 the heavy sl65 with lots of hp and tq holds its own pretty well.
the sl65 would have done much better if it had more dense gearing as once the race goes into 4th and 5th the gears are too long and spaced too wide even for the tq curve of the v12 tt. the new 7-speed sl65 takes care of that and should do _much_ better at high speed acceleration runs.
