I ordered a 2004 SL 500 with Sport because I couldn't get my hands on a SL55 from my dealer, before the car comes in I would like to see if anyone could help me out.
He does have a 2004 Sl 600 ready foe Late October delivery but it's a little out of my price range. The SL55 is as much as I can spend.

I happened to get lucky and jump on one delivered today about 2 weeks after ordering one. The original party decided they didnt want the car, so i got it.
Call all your nearby MB dealers and ask to be notified if one becomes available. Otherwise you are looking at around $5000 over sticker or EBAY.

the wait lists are nearing their end. mb has built a lot more of these things than originally expected (which is good and bad).
also, the pre-owned market is getting quite voluminous. the prices are or will soon be inverting to below MSRP on the used cars.
