SL65 strange noise!
Hi guys!
I've got a little problem with my 06 SL65.
Few weeks ago while taking a curve to the right at around 60mph I used to get a friction noise coming from the front left side (it seem the wheel was touching somethin).
I took the car to my MB specialist and told me it could be because of the engine under cover being loose. He adjusted the screws a bit and the noise was reduced considerably. However, I still get it some times while turning to the same side (right) but it happens less often and only at higher speeds than before.
I was told it could be becouse of the brake discs as well.
Any ideas fellas?
Thanks in advance for the help!!

Apply chalk on the inside of the tire. Drive around and then check for chalk transfer. This should tell you if your tire is rubbing.
Brakes shold not make grinding noises unless worn out. You have sensors that will tell you if you need new pads. Rotors can be measured for thickness.
I don't think it is brakes. It could be a wheel bearing or funny pattern worn out tire. Or most likely whatever your mechanic did, he needs to do/ adjust more of it.

Check to see if the backing plate is touching the rotor...
After the dealer worked on my ZSL65 I noticed the same noise... The Moron "MB Tech" had bent the backing plate and it was slightly touching the rotor on the inside...
Take off the wheel and look closely.
