Paddles or buttons
My new 2007 SL65 has paddles and a manual setting, I know it's not a
mct box, but looking at older SL65's and my SL55 they had buttons not paddles. Anyone know when they fitted paddles.

Exactly. There are roughly 3 generations of R230's.
The R230 1.1 (SL55,SL65) : Buttons, round headlights (2002-2006)
The R230 1.2 (SL55,SL65) : Paddles, round headlights (2007-2009)
The R230 2.0 (SL63,SL65) : Paddles ,CLS-Style headlights (2009-2012)
Personnaly, If I had to choose one SL R230, it would be a SL55 1.2 Euro version, 517 Hp , with the 18 inches multispoke wheels. The best looking R230 IMO.
