Trunk Leak - Need Advice

SO I picked up my 2007 SL55 approximately 1 month ago with 20,000 miles on the clock. Car has sat outside the last week or so through a few showers. Got in the car the other morning to find a faint musty smell. Ignored it and drove to work. Got back in later int he day and noticed it again. Opened the trunk to find the floor soaked - completely soaked. I cleaned out everything and left the trunk open to dry out.

Now that it is, I did some investigation in hopes to figure out the leak. From the looks of it there are two seams in the trunk gasket just inside of each hinge which seem to overlap. Only mine seem to overlap and dump right into the trunk. Is that the usual problem? If so it looks like a terrible design.

Another thing to note is the trunk open function seems to be a bit noisier, maybe my imagination but maybe not. More of a loud moan now. That sound normal?

I did also note that all the electronics in at the bottom of the trunk which looks like air lines for the suspension. Should I have anything to worry about with that equipment?

Anyone with experience? I assume the dealer will cover this? Any tips? I hope they plan on replacing the trunk tray also since it stinks now.

Well thanks in advance for the insight guys.

The other place to look for leaks is around the center stop light.
