SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Any interest in buying my 2004 SL55?
I bought this came from the original owner in July 2010. At that time, he had 41k miles (so 6,000 or 7,000) miles per year. I took the car over and have put a lot of highway miles on it driving back and forth from Milwaukee to the north suburbs of Chicago where I live (50 miles each trip). The car now has 82,000 miles on it.
I've taken extreme care of the car.....as did the first owner. I've gotten oil changes on schedule. I've had brakes and rotors done on schedule (just had rears done last month). I also had all 4 tires replaced in the last 2 months.
No dings....no dents.....has the 19-inch AMG 5-star rims that come on the 2007-2008 AMGS. I installed the OEM taillights from the 2007-2009 SL models ans also installed the clear third brake light. Finally, I installed a body colored lip spoiler on the trunk.....it looks great. The interior has a Valentine 1 radar that is hardwired in.....I might let you keep that depending on the price.
I just had the ABC pump fixed last spring....been no issues since. I also just got 2 problematic issues that the SL has, taken care of......this includes the tranny connector leaking and possibly then leaking into TCM....and what is where issues can start. As I said, replacing the connector fixed that issue on my car. Secondly, these cars idler pulleys normally break or the bearing inside cracks.....you get a very loud noise and sometimes they will crack off all together. I had stainless steel pulleys made instead.....they run great, are quiet, have noticed better shifting tranny,
Car hasn't seen snow or hale. All tires are new (well at least within 2 months)
Car is gorgeous......and it DOES have the pano roof option.....and the rest of the roof is vinyled to match the glass roof.
It basically won't have any of the issues the 2003 ones have......but I've added on most of the stuff needed for it to be a 2007-2008. It's a real solid car....and looks better in person.
Be honest.....all the 55's out there with 35k miles or more are going to start immediately needing work done in the next year to keep the car running. My SL already has all of that work done.
I am asking $27,500 FOR IT. I am in Wisconsin, feel free to come by and drive it or have an AD do so.
